Obama: Communist or Moron? You Tell Me

On Monday, the Obama administration introduced another section of the "Affordable Health Care Act" which will force insurers to spend 80 to 85 percent of premiums on actual medical care, rather than overhead and profits. HHS Secretary, Kathleen Sebelius said that many insurers spend a substantial amount of the premiums they collect on administration costs and profits. Wow, I had no idea that there were costs associated with running a business or that portions of the revenue collected was returned to those that had invested in the business. As Barack Obama and the people around him continue to make bone headed statements like this and promote job killing, business destroying policy, it leaves us with only two choices as to why. The first option is that the president and pretty much everyone in his administration is an idiot with regard to business and economics. It's not difficult to make an argument for this point of view due to the complete lack of business or private sector experience of anyone there. The idea that consumers will be getting more value for their dollar under this mandate is pure fantasy. It sounds good, but the reality is that insurance companies, as well as all other businesses, have operating costs. They either have to pay those costs or cut them out which will mean layoffs and a loss of efficiency, which will likely lead to delays in approving treatments and processing claims. In other words, less value for the dollar to consumers. Furthermore, establishing businesses requires the investment of capital and the only reason people are willing to risk their money is to, hopefully, get a return on it. Take away that incentive to invest in insurance companies and the capital will go elsewhere. Despite what Obama feels is the immorality of it, the objective of business is to make money, not donate to charity. I really don't think the president has a problem with making money, he just wants to decide who gets to keep it. After all, non-profit organizations didn't pay for that Indian vacation he just took, taxes on capitalism did. This will lead to investors leaving the insurance market, fewer choices for consumers, and a poorer quality product. By the way, I wonder what percentage of the money allocated to Medicare and Medicaid actually goes toward medical services. I'll bet it's not close to 80%. The second option to consider and the one I favor is that the president knows all of that to be true and is merely trying to drive private insurers out of business in favor of government controlled socialized medicine. Nationalizing health care is a key component of communism and Obama is a communist. He's not interested in providing anyone with a better quality of life; just providing everyone with an equal, albeit lower, quality. You can actually make a very strong argument that he's a communist and a moron since communism and socialized medicine have been colossal failures everywhere they've been tried. But these are really the only choices available.

The Real Reason Behind NPR's Firing of Juan Williams

On election night in November 2008, after Barack Obama was elected president, I saw Juan Williams on Fox describing his feelings on the election of our first African-American president. I was rather depressed about it because I thought it would be disastrous for the country, which of course it has been. But, at the same time, I couldn't help feeling good for Williams and other blacks of his generation. I'm sure it was something that many of them we're sure they would see in their lifetimes. If we could remove the politics and ideology from it; I think we would all have to admit what a remarkable statement that made about our country. That a member of race only 150 years removed from slavery now holds the highest office in the nation, is a testament to the unlimited opportunity our country continues to offer to all of it's citizens. I think Juan Williams was awed by the greatness of America and felt blessed to be born in this land of opportunity. That's why he was fired earlier this week by NPR; he doesn't hate America and that's unacceptable to the radical left that's infiltrated our government, our society, and in particular the media. Call them socialists, communists, progressives, or anti-colonialists; they all share a common trait. They despise the principles and values that America was founded on and would like to see the United States, as we know it, destroyed or, in the words of Obama, "fundamentally transformed". This isn't the Republican vs Democrat or conservative/liberal thing that's been at the heart of our political conflicts in the past. Williams is a liberal and like others he wants bigger government, more social programs, bla,bla,bla... I disagree with him and other libs on, pretty much everything. But, that doesn't make them evil; just misguided, myopic, or ignorant. A lot of them, though I have no idea why, really believe their ideas would work. Williams wants a new and improved America. The far left nuts, of which Obama is a member, behind his firing believe that the U.S. is an evil empire that has pillaged the worlds resources and oppressed it's people. They view the American people as stupid, evil, mean spirited, ignorant, or a combination of the four. Most of those on the left don't know a damn thing about Islam or Muslims and their beliefs and traditions; what's more, they couldn't care less. A lot of Muslims hate America and want it destroyed and that works for the left. The left are like ticks or leaches that attach themselves to certain groups that they believe will further their goals. They've always loved communists, Russian in the 30's and 40's, Vietnamese in the 60's. In the 60's and 70's they latched on to the black militants such as The Black Panthers. Through the years they've also used movements like feminism, and gay rights. Today, it's Muslims and illegal immigrants. What Juan Williams found out this week is: being one of their favored groups won't protect you from their wrath if you cross them. Being a liberal black doesn't entitle you to any opinions or thoughts that stray from the agenda. It's a little ironic that a group that supposedly supports the causes of women and homosexuals also supports a people that enslave, beat, and murder those groups. But, the left never lets a little hypocrisy get in the way of their agenda. The radical left has pledged it allegiance to Muslims I believe, because Muslim terrorist have shown the willingness to attack and fight America, which of course the lefties don't have the balls to do. They talk a good game and have been known to plant a bomb in the dark of night but, when it's time to fight, they run for cover like cock roaches. So here's a warning to you lefties: The vast majority of Americans don't share you anti-American beliefs, despite the fact that a few of your leaders have conned their way into office. Muslims, socialists, or communists may someday rule Europe; Europeans would be living in tyranny now if it weren't for us. But it will never happen here unless you've wiped out 80 or 90% of us and, frankly, none of you have the brains or the balls. Besides without the American people, this country would be just another barren wasteland, of which there are already several scattered across the middle east. As for poor Juan Williams, he's got a fat new contract with Fox. Congratulations Juan on moving from the outhouse to the penthouse.

Warning to the Left: Back Away From McDonald's

Michelle Obama feels that fast food restaurants should make apples or carrots the "default" side order in fast food combo meals; fries should be by special request only. I'm sure she feels that getting a little salt on those fries should also require "special request".  She also believes we should provide public funding to expand the availability of fresh fruits and vegetables in lower income neighborhoods and, this is my favorite, offer them in liquor stores. Because everyone loves some asparagus with their vodka. This leftist crap is really starting to piss me off. Have you seen the new commercial with the dead guy clutching half of a cheeseburger? Are you kidding me? It was supposedly sponsored by some group of doctors, which makes you wonder how tough it could really be to graduate from medical school. I think McDonald's should sue their ass off and they better hope I'm not on the jury. This insanity has to stop. If these morons want to go through life eating grass and bird seed, I couldn't care less. But the first lady needs to quit wasting our money on stupidity missions and attacking private business. But this didn't start with the Obamas. Since at least 2006, the State of Texas has had a program called "Texplate" that, among other things, helps restaurants determine healthy portion sizes for consumers. Their website also contains these brilliant words: "Multi-component interventions aimed at changing employees' dietary habits, physical activity level, and attitude about food are most effective in worksite settings."Excuse me, as soon as I get ready for a "food intervention", I'll let you know; but don't hold your breath. The state does their best to hide how much money is spent on this propaganda, but I did find this in their website: "DSHS is planning to request nearly $3 million from the Texas Legislature to implement the Strategic Plan for the Prevention of Obesity in Texas." http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/mch/pdf/FINAL_FY10BlockGrant_Post%20to%20Website.pdf
The way our government throws around billions and trillions these days, $ 3 million might not seem like much, but do we really need to spend one dime of taxpayer money to make sure people don't get to large a portion of chicken fried steak? McDonald's has, naturally become the whipping boy who gets singled out. After all, they're the biggest and they make a lot of money, which must make them evil. But, I'm certainly against murder so let's look at the facts:

  • The number of deaths directly linked to McDonald's:  0
  • Number of deaths indirectly linked to McDonald's:     0
  • Number of deaths linked directly or indirectly to eating any form of fast food at any establishment, anywhere, at any time:  0
  • Number of verifiable confirmed cases of heart disease, diabetes, cancer, the flu, or herpes that can be directly or indirectly linked to any of the aforementioned behavior:  0
Wow, with such overwhelming evidence, we should immediately eradicate the planet of all fast food. Actually, there are a few undisputed facts we can state about McDonald's:

  • Since their founding, they have created hundreds of millions if paying jobs around the world and currently employ between 1.5 and 2 million people.
  • They are by far the largest buyer of beef and potatoes in the U.S.
  • They are the second largest buyer of chicken (behind KFC) and one of the leading buyers of paper, plastic, and cleaning products in the U.S.
  • With over 31,000 locations worldwide, they are consistently one of the leading contributors to the real estate, construction, manufacturing, and building products industries in the world.
  • In 1974, they founded The Ronald McDonald House charity to help provide accommodations for the families of hospitalized children. It currently provides over 7,200 rooms to families each night and a savings of over $ 257 million and is completely funded by private corporations and individuals.
For decades McDonald's has provided American families with reasonably priced food, steadily created jobs and spurred economic growth, and given back to the communities it serves. Leave 'em alone! Okay, what about the soaring obesity rates and rampant heart disease? Well, I'm having a hard time figuring this out. Everyone keeps telling us how fat and unhealthy we are and they have all sorts of studies and statistics to back it up. This "porking out" of America is blamed on fast food. Here are couple of more inconvenient facts:

  • According to the U.S. Center for Health Statistics, in 1950, when fast food was almost non-existent, the average life expectancy of Americans was 66 years. Today, it's 77.
  • All of these cheeseburgers and obesity are said to be leading to increased cases of heart disease. But in 1950, 510 of every 100,000 deaths was attributed to heart disease. In 2005, with a McDonald's on every corner, the number was 289 (a 176% decrease).
Does anyone really believe we're getting less healthy? Were there 24 hour fitness centers and jogging tracks scattered throughout America in the 50's, 60's, and 70's? Were there fitness gurus on TV and workout rooms in every hotel? Wake up people! The latest "sky is falling" rallying cry is that one third of children are obese. Obese My ASS! Where are they getting these numbers? The next time you drive by a school or drop off your kid, take a look at the general population. They're in better shape than we ever dreamed of when we were kids. Are there some fat ones? Hell yes, we had fat ones too. There are a whole lot more that look like super models and professional athletes. The teachers look a lot better than in my day also, but I digress. Despite all the video games, internet, and other technology that is allegedly ruining our youth, today's kids are a lot more active than we were. Soccer, baseball, football, softball, swimming, hockey, basketball, tumbling, lacrosse, gymnastics, cheer leading; what did I leave out? Not just little six week seasons either; year round. I'm embarrassed to tell you what my youth sports bill is. So, why would they raise such a fuss if it weren't real? That's easy, as Rush Limbaugh has been saying for twenty years, "liberals lie". This doesn't have a damn thing to do with health or obesity; it's about control. Have you noticed that McDonald's is always packed? We like it and we'll eat there as often as we want; and we don't want freaking apples with our Big Mac or our whiskey! I posted on this subject a while back and some Koolaid drinking nimrod had a comment along the lines of "God forbid they try to keep you healthy" I don't remember his name but, if you're thinking of going there again, I've got two words for you and they 'aint "Happy Birthday". I don't need any help, get out of my business! The propaganda has been building for a while. I read a report from the CDC from about 2001 that stated "We don't produce enough fruit and vegetables for every American to have his recommended portion." I haven't noticed the produce bins at the grocery store being empty; in fact, they have to throw tons out because it goes bad. They put billions into grants to locate supermarkets in "under served areas". Here's the deal; if the market demanded apples at McDonald's, more produce at Walmart, or more Walmarts in your neighborhood; then we'd have all of that stuff. Those people know how to read the market, that's how they make all those obscene profits. But, it's not about what we want; it's about what they think we need. They should be careful with that line of thinking because, what they really need is an ass whipping. They use the childhood obesity thing because it's sympathetic, who doesn't want to save kids? If the First Lady and her husband really want to save some kids, they might stop public funding for abortion, a lot more kids have died from that than cheeseburgers. An old video circulating on the internet last week showed Whitehouse regulatory czar Cass Sunstein saying that "we all have a little Homer Simpson in us". In other words, we're kinda stupid and we need to be taken care of by the government. Well, we must have a few Homer Simpsons or these parasites wouldn't be in the Whitehouse. But most Americans have a little John Wayne in them and we don't take kindly to bureaucrats that have never even held a regular job telling us what to eat and how to live our lives. We've taken a lot of crap over the years, but if you people don't back away from the burgers, it's gonna get ugly.

Why Does Our President Whine Like A Five Year Old?

Remember Tom Hank's line in "A League of Their Own"? "There's no crying in baseball." Well it's a damn good thing Barack Obama doesn't play baseball. Toddlers being denied toys and candy at Walmart don't whine and stomp their feet as much as this guy does. He says Republicans talk about him like he's a dog. Maybe that's because he's constantly whimpering like a new puppy that got left in the garage all night. Could someone please tell this guy that he's President of the most powerful nation on earth and, occasionally it would be nice if he conducted himself like an adult with at least a shred of dignity. I've seen teenage assistant managers at Burger King that have more leadership qualities than him. The blaming Bush thing has gotten to the point of being comical. How is it that Bush was completely responsible for every single thing that happened in America and the world during his eight year presidency, but Obama bears absolutely no responsibility for anything that's occurred in his two years on the job? But, it goes beyond just Bush; he regularly cries about how the Republicans in congress are preventing all of the wonderful things he's trying to do. Hello, Mr. President? You have majorities in both houses; if the leftist, socialist, nutbags in your own party are fighting you, maybe your ideas and policies just really suck.If the Republicans are the "party of no"; the the Democrats in congress must be the party of "even we think that's stupid". We realize the country was screwed up when you took office; I hate to be unsympathetic but, that sucks for you. If you had no clue how to fix things, you shouldn't have applied for the job. It appears that you think being President is kind of a hard job; no kidding jackass, if it was easy, we'd just put up a help wanted sign like McDonald's. But, since you have the job for another two years, could you at least try to act like a President instead of a third grade wuss who just got punked out of his lunch money? Maybe you could pick up a biography on Ronald Reagan for some pointers. By the way, it looks like you may lose your congressional majorities in November; you're not going to hold your breath until you turn blue are you?

Are You Mad Yet?

There is a movement taking place in America. Millions of people that have never been politically active or vocal have started speaking out, writing their congressmen, and attending town halls or tea parties. I thinks it's tremendous but, it's not enough. Far too many, including a lot that I know personally, are still sitting on the sidelines. We have to find a way to wake these people up. It's not as if there aren't plenty of reasons to be pissed. Here are just a few. Point them out to anyone you know who's still oblivious.

  • Communists/Socialists Infiltrating Public Schools-A story in theblaze.com details how a woman named Dolores Huerta is currently working in an ad campaign with the U.S. Department of Labor that seeks to help illegal aliens insure that they are receiving fair wages from their U.S. employers. The key word here being "illegal". What's more, Huerta, who is an honorary chair of the Democratic Socialists of America, has spoken at several public schools, praising Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez and advocating a socialist economy for America. That's not really what I'm sending my kids to learn about in school. To make it even worse, her appearances were arranged by Democratic congressman Raul M. Grijalva of Arizona.
  • U.S. State Department Spending Taxpayer Money To Support Muslim Outreach-This story in Human Events explains how the State Department has spent at least $ 26, 000 dollars sponsoring a Muslim outreach trip for the imam behind the ground zero mosque including the purchase of 3,000 copies of his book to be distributed in the middle east. But the Ten Commandments can't be displayed on public property.
  • Immigration Audits of Businesses Up, Alien Arrests and Deportations Down-This story on Fox shows that under the Obama administration, ICE audits of businesses suspected of employing illegals is up slightly from the last year under Bush, worker arrests are down more than eighty percent.
  • Obama Details U.S. Human Rights Violations to U.N.-For the first time in History the U.S. submitted a periodic review to the U.N. human right commissioner that among other things details how much the Obama administration has done to protect the rights of convicted criminals, homosexuals, and illegal aliens. The report also blasts the State of Arizona for it's new immigration law. This report was submitted to the same U.N that includes members such as China, Iran, and Somalia.
  • Feds Continue Ban on Shallow water Drilling-As if the people of Louisiana and the Gulf Coast hadn't been through enough, the federal government, despite officially lifting the ban on shallow water drilling in May, has essentially continued it by delaying permits. A story in the Washington Post says that, since the ban was lifted in May, only 3 permits have been issued compared to 3-5 per: week before. Obama's war working people continues.
  • Rampant Voter Fraud-Evidence of massive voter registration fraud by left leaning organizations is surfacing as it did in 2008 with ACORN. This story in Houston is just one example.
There is a level of corruption and anti-Americanism in our government that is unprecedented. The leftwing media is not going to report it, so it's up to us to get the word out on a grass roots level. Check out theblaze.com , Human Events, The Cato Institute, or follow us on American Awakening for news and information you won't get from the mainstream. Less than one month left to register to vote in the November elections. If you know anyone who's not registered, use this website to help them. Wake Up America!

Thank God, "The Summer of Recovery" is almost over.

Well, it's the first day of school and that means summer is coming to a close. As far as I'm concerned, it's not a minute to soon; for a couple of reasons. Number one, I'm tired of having a heat stroke every time I go out on my patio but, most importantly, I'm hoping that President Obama's "Summer of Recovery" will also be ending soon. Frankly, I don't know how much more we can stand. A few months back, the president's genius PR people came up with that brilliant slogan and for the last couple of months he's been touring the country trying to sell us on how great everything is. Someone might want to tell him that the only reason there are some many people in the audiences of those speeches is that those people don't have jobs. The Department of Labor announced that there were 500,000 new applications for unemployment last week. Holy Crap! How bad would things have been if he hadn't saved us? Incredibly, that's actually the Democrat's party line; "It would have been much worse if we hadn't spent a trillion dollars." Mr. President, stop peeing on our heads and telling us it's raining. I know you think we're all incredibly stupid and, based on the fact that you managed to get yourself elected, a lot of us must be. But there is a limit to how much BS people are going to buy. Where I work, we've laid off about 30% of our work force in the past year and next year isn't looking any better. There is also little doubt that we'll lose our health insurance when the new law goes into effect and be forced to either find less coverage of pay substantially more. These things aren't unique to my industry and they're not market or corporate driven; they're government driven. George Bush and the Republicans definitely did their part to put us here, but Obama and the Dems own this now. Maybe, with the end of summer, and the November elections, we'll get some relief. Speaking of shoveling the horse crap; is there anything funnier than Democrats standing up for freedom of religion? Last week the president and Nancy Pelosi took bold stands for religious freedom; denouncing the persecution of Muslims who are trying to build mosque on top of the death place of three thousand Americans who were murdered by Muslim terrorists. Really? Where are they on the issue of school prayer or a federal judge telling the State of Utah they can't place crosses along the highway to honor fallen state troopers? I bet Jesus roared with laughter like Ed McMahon when he heard those two talk about freedom of religion. What else do you guys support; fiscal responsibility, controlling the borders, tax cuts...? If there are still people out there who are buying this crap, give me a call; I've got some Enron stock I need to unload.

Why We Should Repeal the 17th Amendment

The tenth amendment to the Constitution states "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people." It was the intention of the founding fathers to strictly limit the powers of the federal government. They believed this could best be accomplished by dividing federal power between three branches and maintaining the sovereignty of the individual states. By reserving most powers to the states, local communities, and the people; the tenth amendment was intended to guard against tyranny and corruption of the central government. The senate was established specifically to represent the interests of the states. Senators would be elected by appointment of the state legislatures, with each state equally represented. Accountability to the legislature of their home states would help guard against corruption from the influences of outside interests or political factions. James Madison wrote in Federalist # 62 that one of the dangers of a republican government is: "that those who administer it, may forget their obligations to their constituents" and that this second branch of legislature "must be in all cases a salutary check on government". The popular vote of the people would be represented by The House of Representatives, whose members had to be re-elected every two years; giving the people frequent opportunities to hold them accountable. Senators would serve six year terms which would provide continuity to the government, while the appointments by state legislatures would guard against elections being decided by heated issues of the moment or from outside interests with ulterior motives. In other words, the founders believed that allowing state governments to choose senators would protect the people from their own poor decisions. While this may seem arrogant or condescending, the founders knew that it would be difficult for such a diverse and expansive population to obtain a thorough and unbiased knowledge of all of the issues facing the nation. The will of the people would be directly represented by the House of Representatives and the President but, in the event that the public was mislead or made poor choices in the heat of passion; state governments, through the Senate, could help check abuses of power by the federal government. The seventeenth amendment, which was adopted on April 8, 1913, established the election of senators by popular vote. The amendment was promoted by members of the "progressive movement" such as Senator Robert La Follette, publisher William Randolph Hearst, and President Woodrow Wilson as a means of simplifying the election process and guarding against corruption. The true, and many believe, intended result of the seventeenth amendment was the stripping away of state government influence at the federal level. Additionally, rather than guarding against corruption, the change threw open the door for mass corruption in the form of special interest lobbying and campaign finance. With elections often being decided by fund raising abilities, candidates are in a perpetual campaign for re-election which, in turn, leads to conflicts of loyalty between constituents and contributors. For example; a look at the campaign disclosures of Senator Christoper Dodd reveals six figure contributions from multiple political action committees of banking associations, most of them from outside his home state of Connecticut. Given Dodd's position as Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, we have to wonder how much loyalty there is to the people of his state. Dodd is only one example, click here to see his disclosures as well as those of other senators of both parties. I believe the seventeenth amendment should be repealed and the power to appoint senators should be returned to the state legislatures. This move alone would nullify a huge portion of special interest influence on the federal government and give some teeth to states rights efforts.A perfect example of the protection that would be provided by this process is the debate over the health care law passed earlier this year. The people, out of frustration with the economy and the policies of the Bush administration, elected a Democratic president as well as Democratic majorities in both houses of congress. While a clear majority of Americans decided that Barack Obama was the best person to lead the country, they did not grant him the power to do anything he wanted. President Obama and the congress then used their majorities to pass a government takeover of health care against the protests of a clear majority of the people. Multiple opinion polls have consistently show that roughly 60% of voters favor the repeal of the law. The Senate even used reconciliation to pass the bill when the election of Scott Brown in Massachusetts (a clear sign of opposition to the health care bill) removed the Democrats filibuster-proof majority. The ability of state legislatures to hold the Senate accountable may have prevented the passage of the bill against the wishes of the people. This type of unchecked power was exactly what the founders tried to guard against. The money and power of corporate lobbyists, labor unions, and activist groups currently permeates all branches of the federal government and has enabled the policies of a few radicals to be enacted on the majority. The most effective and immediate step to returning the government to the people is the repeal of the seventeenth amendment.
